Finance Assistant

Pembury, Kent • Part Time

Due to business growth, we are excited to create a brand new Finance Assistant role. The Finance Assistant will support the Finance Manager to ensure smooth, accurate and timely processing of financial transactions in Sage with accurate reporting output. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Part Time position ~0.4 FTE (approx. 15 hours / week spread over 3-4 days). Hybrid of home / office working.

Responsibilities

  • Processing accounts payables, preparing payment runs and supplier liaison
  • Monthly billing and cash receipt management
  • Processing bank transactions and preparing monthly bank reconciliations
  • Managing cashflow reporting
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
  • Maintenance of workflow information systems
  • Assist Finance Manager with monthly control account reconciliations, payroll verification, and quarterly budget forecasts
  • Ad-hoc holiday cover

Key Personal Attributes

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially in Microsoft Excel
  • Accounting software experience (ideally Sage)
  • Excellent organisation and time-management
  • Great attention to detail
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads and urgent requests

Qualifications / Experience

  • Finance and administration experience in a similar role highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of Sage Accounting or similar advantageous
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills

Salary & Benefits

  • FTE equivalent of approx. £22-25,000 depending on experience
  • 25 days holiday (pro-rata)
